Hi Folks, Jim "leechbait" Uran here I'm with Hot Spot Outdoors and had the privilege of using Venom's float system this previous ice season. I've got to say that it did help me put more fish on the ice and make my time out there more productive.

It sounds silly to think that something as simple as a “bobber” could allow me to catch more fish, but this is no simple bobber. This is a revolutionary float system that allows you to infinitely adjust your presentations buoyancy, and the adjustments are done with ease.

We all know how finicky fish can get under the ice! There are times when you need to minimize the “drag” a fish feels when it bites, and there are times when you need a bigger presentation. Those two can happen at any given moment and what Venom has allowed us to do is be prepared for each scenario and everything in between.

On a specific lake I fish in the winter the ‘gills and the slab crappies roam the same areas during late ice, but they both have a different preferences. I stick with the same lure but change from waxies to minnows when the crappies move in and vice versa when the gills move back in. All I do is pull the foam insert up a few dash marks to adjust for the added weight and pull of the minnow and its like putting on a whole new float to minimize the drag the fish feels when they pull it down. When the gills move in, it’s as simple as putting on a couple of wax worms and pushing the foam insert back in to balance the float just right. That is only one of many scenarios I’ve come across that this system has made a difference.

What a great system Venom has made, it’s really helped me balance my presentation, a little fine tuning here and there really makes you pay more attention to what you are doing and keeps you tuned in to what you are out on the ice for, and that’s catching fish. I’m really excited to get my hands on some of the new components and see what they have coming out in the future!

Hi, my name is Kelly King, I am a tournament fisherman and vice president of the Bays De Noc Great Lakes Sport Fisherman. I wanted to write and tell you about the venom float system I've been using. It is by far the best float I've ever used. I know, what can they do with a bobber? Well venom has made one that I have put through a battery of tests, ie...using it with a jig, using it as a slow sinking float with crank baits and a host of live bait rigs. It passes every one with flying colors. Durable and easy to use. Versatile and the list goes on. Here is a pic of my wife with a nice smally she caught rigging a jig under a venom float. Over 20 inches and 4.5 lbs. thank you Venom for another great  American made product!! I can't wait to try it ice fishing!!

I've had a thing about bobbers for the past 40-years. It seems that I've always been looking for the "perfect" bobber. You can tell by the picture that I've tried them all. In the spring I use a small fixed bobber above a small jig for crappies and bluegills in the shallows. In the fall I use slip bobbers and live bait for walleye near fish cribs and drop-offs. The time of the year that I use bobbers the most is during ice fishing. I tried the Venon bobber for both open water and during the ice fishing. When using the Venom bobber as a fixed bobber, I use a slip knot on both sides of the bobber and space the knots about 1/2 inch apart. They are superior when compared to anything else out there mainly because they are easily adjustable when you switch from a lighter bait to a heavier bait or heavier to lighter, which I do alot. With these bobbers, no more digging thru your tackle box looking for previously trimmed foam bobbers or cutting your line and re-tying the standard type slip bobbers. I actually replaced all the bobbers in the picture with several Venom bobbers. I also really like the glow-in-the-dark ones. I don't need to buy those small batteries anymore for my lighted slip bobbers.

Congratulations on a great product.

If you like using a bobber for ice fishing, you HAVE to try the new bobbers by Venom.  New on the market, it has been proven to be “must have equipment” for the serious ice fisherman.

I tried this bobber out on Lake Winnipeg, Manitoba,Canada for our hawg Walleyes.  Using a Northland eyedropper jig with a standout hook 9 inches above the eyedropper suspended from the Venom bobber proved deadly on finicky Walleyes with the negative buoyancy slow fall cycle.  The AB model of the bobber will suspend the eyedropper perfectly a few inches above bottom.  Adjust the bobber and you can get the eyedropper to sink ever so slowly, combined with a twitching action gets those tough fish to wake up and bite.  The lift and fall presentation with salted minnows was the ticket after many other methods failed.  Neutral or negative buoyancy can be had. Other bobbers just can’t do that!

This bobber was tried out in the open in –30 F wind chill conditions with very little freeze up on the bobber.  The hole froze up quicker than the ice build up on the bobber.  Any ice came off very easily.  Inside a portable shelter the bobber is out done by none.  Talk about ultra sensitive!  As a semi submerged or submerged bite indicator I have yet to use anything that comes close as there is no resistance from the Venom float to cause the fish to drop the bait!

These bobbers are ideal for dead-sticking.  Smaller jigs with the pin on weight inside the bobber nailed perch.  Small Salmo Chubby Darters with the Venom float worked well in the morning bite.  The combinations are only limited by your imagination.  Use the bobber as a slip bobber and the notching allows you to change up rigs and bobber systems real quick.  If you are serious about your bobbers like me, then try the Venom float system.  You WILL NOT be disappointed with the service from Venom, nor the bobber’s performance.  I can hardly wait to try them out in the open water season! There’s simply nothing like the Venom float system on the market.

I consider myself fairly hardcore at my outdoor hobbies and or obsessions as they should be called.  I recently tried your product while chasing late season Crappies in northern MN, and I have to say I was more than impressed.  It seems they were feeling my bobber and letting go, so I removed the bobber and went as a solo jig and minnow, they were really finicky and seems they figured that out as well.  I placed the Venom float on and couldn’t believe my eyes, I had it set real light so it just hovered in the water and as soon as I seen it traveling or going down at all I set the hook and long story short within a 1/2 hour I had a limit.  There was an old boy fishing about 20 yards to the south of me watching this so he got up and came over and said how are you hooking these things? I showed him and then gave him my spare set.  You would have thought I gave him gold.  I have added something to my arsenal that will give me the edge on finicky fish which we all know can be stressful, and I made a friend on the lake. It was a successful trip and I owe it all to your amazing new product. I look forward to using these again and I am anticipating the arrival of the new product line for 2010.  Attached is a picture from that day’s success.

Thanks,

Chris – A faithful Venom Floats user!

The Venom bobber is very versatile.  From changing jigs and lures to changing size of live bait, the adjustments are fast and very simple.  It takes longer to bait a hook than it does to get neutral buoyancy with this bobber.  This is the bobber that will be on my line in the future!

Just one example: I was fishing a crib with a bare hook and a small Crappie minnow.  The minnow dragged the hook into the crib and got me snagged up.  With braided line, the hook snapped off and forced a change over.  I put on a small jig to present a bit of color with the minnow.  Upon lowering the jig down to bottom, the bobber started to sink with the weight of the new jig.  I pulled the foam out about one or two marks and was at neutral buoyancy again.  Without the ability to adjust the bobber, I would have been forced to change bobbers and go with something larger.  It’s just that fast and simple.

I was Crappie fishing that day/night and fishing Lake Pepin the following day for Walleye and Sauger.  I changed the jig to something bigger and pulled the foam out a bit.  There is no fumbling with multiple bobbers to get the perfect set up.

I used my bobbers all last ice season and they are still ready to go for open water or next ice season.  They last a long time and have paid for themselves several times over.  Venom has designed the future of fishing bobbers with this system.  See attached photo of a 22.5" Sauger caught using the Venom bobber.

What a bobber system! This is the next generation bobber.  I really like the way you can adjust the bobber on the fly to compensate for various size baits and sinkers.  Adding the Venom bobber weight allows the bait to sink slowly as you jig your bait.  While I was fishing for crappie I found this to be deadly. I also liked the way the line went through the large slot on the bobber instead of hanging up like on other bobbers.  I was able to cast 35 ft and the line still didn't hang up on the bobber.  Enclosed is a picture of some of the fish my brother and I caught in spite of the rain and hail that day.

My brother Karron Hartley had written you on our use of your bobbers in Missouri crappie fishing. My brother and I have always used slip bobbers while fishing for Crappies and other small fish. Before it was hard to detect when a small bluegill was biting and sometimes we would bring in our line and find we had no bait. I am glad to say with the sensitivity of your new VENOM bobbers even the smallest fish was easy to detect biting.  Before using your new VENOM bobbers we would have to untie our rigs many times when we needed to change size of bobbers. Needless to say we were losing fishing time. With the new VENOM bobbers there is no more time lost fishing due to your innovative adjustable floats.

Also, sometimes our fishing line would give us trouble going through the slip bobbers, but not with your design on the bottom of the VENOM bobber. I am retired, living in Illinois and like to take my grandchildren fishing and now they are able to put the bobber to use by themselves and enjoy bluegill fishing a lot more and catch more fish because of the bobber sensitivity. Before, I had to put on their bobbers because it was hard for them to feed the line through the slip bobbers. I find no problems with using your new VENOM bobbers and can do nothing but praise their design and ease of use.

The only thing I can hope is that you are thinking of designing another bobber for cat fishermen. My sons and I love to fish for catfish and I am sure there are a lot of men that once they use this type of bobber they would find nothing else to beat it for catfish.

I am so sold on your VENOM bobbers and I am taking all of the other bobbers out of my tackle box. I don't need them anymore thanks to this design. I am telling other fishermen about these fantastic bobbers.
