AFS Overview

Adjustable Float System KIT:

The AFSK is a new product package for 2010.  It includes all components needed to achieve the maximum potential of the AB model float.  It offers a seamless adjustment range of zero weight – 1/4 oz.  The float can achieve neutral buoyancy with no sinkers on the line within the adjustment window noted.  With this KIT package, an angler can quite literally replace a tackle box full of fixed buoyancy floats.  Please see our video for a full demonstration of this model.  Components included: Lower Plastic Body, Standard Length Foam Insert, Long Foam Insert, Small Pin-On Weight and Large Pin-On Weight.

Adjustable Float System:

The AFS offers the same components as 2009 incorporating all of our 2010 product enhancements.  This package offers a seamless adjustment range of 0.080 oz. – 1/4 oz.  (See decimal to fraction conversions chart below).  This means that if you require neutral buoyancy with lighter loads that you would need to install Pin-On Weights or add sinkers to line to lessen buoyancy.  This float still allows a great amount of adjustment, but the Pin-On Weights (included with AFSK above) simply opens the window to eliminate the need for sinkers across the board.  Please see our video for a full demonstration of this model.  Components included: Lower Plastic Body, Standard Length Foam Insert and Long Foam Insert.

NITE-BITE™ Glow-In-The-Dark AFS:

The NITE-BITE™ AFS is new for 2010.  It offers the same components as the standard AFS plus a foam top cap.  The lower plastic body and foam top cap are molded with a luminous dye.  The dye offers a vibrant and long lasting reusable light source.  Brightness and lighting time varies with the type of light source used to charge components and also environment temperatures.  High intensity LED lights are recommended for best results (demonstrations performed with 85 lumen max output lighting source).  The white NITE-BITE™ foam inserts offer optimum light reflection for enhanced full or near full float illumination.  For 2010, the glow color offered is luminous GREEN.  All luminous components are reusable and free of chemicals.  These floats can be reactivated without removing from hole when ice fishing.  Components included: Luminous Lower Plastic Body, Luminous Foam Top Cap, Standard Length White Foam Insert and Long White Foam Insert.

Venom – Pin-On Weights (POW)

The Venom – Pin-On Weights are designed to meet 4 main goals:

  1. Eliminate the need for sinkers on fishing line to tune float for neutral buoyancy when sinkers are not desired.
  2. Create a much larger adjustment window and to allow neutral and negative buoyancy to weights as low as zero. (AB model: zero – 1/4 oz. adjustment window).
  3. Fast and easy installation or removal without ever having to remove the float from the line.
  4. Adding a Pin-On Weight assists in casting for open water use.

Our floats are the only floats available that can achieve neutral buoyancy with zero weight present.  Some styles of fishing call for very low buoyancy floats.  Some circumstances force anglers to avoid using sinkers – such as very clear waters.  These weights allow anglers to use one float for countless styles of angling.  It is now possible to replace an entire tackle box full of fixed buoyancy floats with only a couple of Venom floats.  Each model has 2 different size weights designed to compliment the adjustment capabilities of their respective float.

Large POW Overview (AB Model):

The large POW is designed to create neutral buoyancy with jig and bait weights from 0.000 oz. – 0.040 oz.  We understand that most instances would call for sinkers to get your jig down fast, but the option is still there when using those tiny loads in clear waters.

Small POW Overview (AB Model):

The transition from the large to small weight is seamless.  The small POW is designed to create neutral buoyancy with jig and bait weights from 0.040 oz. – 0.080 oz.  For 2010, we lessened the weight of the small AB weight.  Completely seamless adjustment is now possible with the AB model float throughout the entire adjustment range.

Venom – Replacement Foam Inserts (RFI)

The Venom – Replacement Foam Insert are designed to meet 4 main goals:

  1. Renewal of float without the need for complete replacement.
  2. Custom shapes and color options as well as low-light or night fishing options.
  3. High quality, long lasting component.
  4. Offer the option to have spares on hand and within reach.

Each float model has 2 foam insert lengths in all packages that contain foam – one standard and one long. Venom foam inserts will be available in multiple colors – giving the choice to use what works best for you.  For 2010, the model size code, “AB” for instance, will be molded permanently into the side of all foam inserts for ease of component choice.

Venom will be unveiling different shapes of foam that will stand taller for open water fishing or ice fishing.  The foam insert will utilize a small diameter, cone shape top that adds minimal buoyancy change.  These foam inserts will also be available in multiple colors.  Release date: Spring of 2011 for AB model (See images).

NITE-BITE™ White Foam Inserts:

Why white?  White is the best color for reflecting external light.  With the luminous lower body and foam top cap offering extremely bright glow light, the light will reflect off from surroundings and the white foam insert making the float glow green.  White is also a great color when fishing open waters during daylight hours.  There are few things on a lake that are white and this will make the foam much more visible at a distance.

Custom Color Foam Top Caps & Lighting Devices

Venom Outdoors has been developing custom color and luminous (glow-in-the-dark) float top caps and visual components since the conception of our designs.  They include caps that attach to Venom foam inserts and also on competitor’s models as well.  Some designs not shown will be: small diameter push-in light sticks, snap on style components and also tubular shaped components.  Some are intended for use with foam floats and some are intended for use with more standard fixed buoyancy style floats.  Luminous GREEN is available in the Fall of 2010 in the NITE-BITE™ AFS package noted above.  Custom color and luminous BLUE options will both be available in the future.

These caps are removable and can be switched from one float to the next.  The caps can also be glued onto the end of the foam for casting to eliminate the chance of the cap falling off.  The caps will be molded with a resin that is lighter than water – drop it in the water and it will float.

AA Model Size Overview:

The Venom AA model adjustment window is to be announced.  This model is designed for pan-fish.  It allows the angler to change small presentations all day long without having to change the float.  The adjustment window is much smaller than the AB model, but the resistance to the fish from water drag is nearly half.  The very small diameter and short height makes it more of an infinite spring bobber than a float.  The fish are finicky – no worries!

Release date: TBA

AB Model Size Overview:

The Venom AB model adjustment window offers seamless adjustment of zero weight to 1/4 oz. when using the AB model Pin-On Weights.  This is Venom’s most versatile model – covering a very broad spectrum of presentations.  It offers a large adjustment window for drastic changes in presentations while still carrying the tiniest of loads with ease.  This float targets anglers that are in pursuit of pan-fish to Walleyes with small to medium size lure and bait weights.  It has already proven to be a favorite for many anglers.

Release date: November 16, 2009

AC Model Size Overview:

The Venom AC model adjustment window offers overlapping adjustments of 1/32 oz. to 3/8 oz. when using the AD model Pin-On Weights.  The adjustment window is huge!  It offers a very open adjustment window for anglers that chase Walleyes or fish of that general stature.  The AC model will be the next model released.

Release date: TBA

AD Model Size Overview:

The Venom AD model adjustment window offers overlapping adjustments of approx. 1/16 oz. to 5/8 oz. when using the AD model Pin-On Weights.  The adjustment window is huge!  It offers a very open adjustment window for anglers that chase Walleyes or fish of that general stature.

Release date: TBA

AE Model Size Overview:

The Venom AE model is going to be an entirely different animal!  We have been put to the challenge to create an adjustable Northern Pike and Musky bobber that can be adjusted for an entire host of presentations.  Currently, there are few options on the market when fishing for the BIG BOYS.  The AE will allow you to change from medium sized Suckers to a monster of a Sucker!  It will also incorporate a foam shape that is specifically designed for this application.  Replace a bunch of fixed buoyancy, expensive bobbers with one adjustable bobber!

Release date: TBA
